Director of Sales

Company:  A mid-size, rapidly growing food products manufacturer and wholesaler to the retail grocery chain and foodservice segments.

Location:  Eastern New England

Reporting: The Director of Sales reports to the President.  Reporting to this Sales Director is a 9-person organization including sales, service, and in-store merchandisers.

Responsibilities: The Director of Sales (D/S) is mainly responsible for top line revenue growth.  The company has enjoyed an annual double-digit top line run for the past several years. The Company is known mainly in the Northeast and has terrific brand equity among its customers.  Its focus has been primarily to retail grocery chains (85% of volume) and the remainder to foodservice accounts.  In addition to maintaining and growing current accounts, this D/S is responsible for extending the brand and opening new accounts beyond the Northeast.  This S/D is also expected to bring a higher level of professionalism to the sales organization.  This includes insuring that the team is properly structured with the right people in the right seats and capitalizing on trend analyses to respond quickly to market demands.
 
Candidate Specifications: Candidates for this position must have sales management experience in the retail grocery chain segment along with a clear record of growing sales in a competitive environment. Moreover, candidates must be fast, flexible, hands-on, and pro-active, especially in developing new business with the right customers.  Good presentation and communication skills are essential as is the need to understand how to use the right data in making intelligent business decisions.

Compensation:  A base plus bonus that will pay in the mid to upper $ 100’s.
