KEY ACCOUNT DIRECTOR

Company: A highly aggressive, fast growing, well known worldwide manufacturer of a broad range of perishable food products sold to retail grocery chains.

Reporting:This Key Account Director reports directly to the CEO. There are no direct reports to this position at this time.

Responsibilities:The Key Account Director is responsible for managing a major, high growth, grocery retailer account. While top management maintains strong and ongoing relationships with each account’s senior management team, this Key Account Director is expected to fully understand this retailer’s strategy and to align company product mix and resources accordingly. The company expects to see dramatic and ongoing top line growth as well as further penetration within this grocery retailer’s store base.

This candidate will be measured on his/her ability to achieve sales objectives, to achieve category/mix objectives, and to ensure long term mix retention for the company’s portfolio of products. Candidates must be outstanding at building and maintaining lasting relationships and understand well the mechanics of retail grocery store operations. In addition, this person must be effective in working with both division presidents and store department managers and understand the key to success is an ability to develop a plan that is consistent with this retailer’s strategy and then to execute to plan.

Candidates must have experience in the retail grocery channel (sales, account management, product/brand management, or other customer facing roles) and well understand grocery store operations. In addition, candidates should see this as a real opportunity to build a business. Hence, energy, business sense, versatility, and entrepreneurship are all essential characteristics of the hired candidate. Ongoing travel is expected based on the diverse locations of this major retailer.

Compensation: A base plus bonus that would pay in the lower $100’s along with incentive stock options.
